1.94a is up on Pendragon. Joanne tells us this isn't all we're going to see in 1.94, but it's pretty significant anyway. There are a lot of balance changes, but the biggest change is certainly rested exp:
Characters with rest experience (RXP) will gain a bonus to their experience gained when killing monsters or players. The bonus is equal to the base amount of experience gained before any other bonuses (zone, realm, buffs, etc.) are applied, up to the amount of total rest experience remaining.

If you're reading that and thinking "doesn't WoW do that?" - well, yes, it does. But if it's an improvement, does it really matter whether WoW got there first?

After an incredibly long time, the second Camelot Campaign (probably?) appears to have begun with the addition of new mobs to the Frontiers and a post on the Herald. It seems that this campaign will be centered on the Frontiers, not Shrouded Isles as most assumed. It also seems that Mythic is no longer trying to keep these Campaigns separate from RvR, as the Frontier mobs and the quest both award Realm Points.

And yes, I know, OFN.

For those of you eagerly awaiting WAR, Mythic today released (though some had previously been leaked) details about the Collector's Edition of WAR, and made it available for pre-order at a number of online and brick-and-mortar stores. You can find info about the Collector's Edition itself at http://www.warhammeronline.com/collectorsedition, and about preordering at http://www.warhammeronline.com/ce_preorder/.

The CE includes:
  • A miniature of Orc leader Grumlok and his Shaman Gazbag
  • A graphic novel focused on the events leading to the Age of Reckoning
  • A hardcover, full-color, 224-page art book
  • Access to 12 additional quests that reward you with special items and CE-only titles
  • Additional "head" options for your avatar during character creation
If you preorder, you also get:
  • Open beta access
  • A head start in the live game
  • Bonus in-game items; one for all preorders, and a second item that varies by retailer
There are "only" going to be 60,000 of these Collector's Editions made, so... hurry and preorder yours, if you want one?

I've got a new page for you today - by widespread* request, I've made a simple battlegrounds overview page. It lists the BGs, their level limits, RR limits, and notes on a few, along with the BG map. Thanks to heap on the Catacombs boards for that last part, for demonstrating that my memory was rather outdated and it might be a good idea to confirm what they look like...

Now, although I made this page, I wasn't at all qualified to do so. The information comes mostly from Herald patch notes, aside from the things I know from reading boards. I was never a big fan of battlegrounds... What I'm trying to say is, many of you are much more qualified to talk about battlegrounds than I am. So if there's something you think should be on the page and isn't, email or post it.

* By widespread, I mean one guy. Who didn't leave his name, and thus gets no credit for it. But let this be a reminder - if you want to see something on the site, ask for it! uriel@classesofcamelot.com

I don't know whether Mythic has been working on some of this for a very long time, or whether they've just stepped things up recently, but patch 1.93 is rather more substantial than the last couple we've seen. Highlights include:
  • Expanded tutorial zones - now for levels 1-10.
  • You now choose your advanced class at character creation, rather than at level 5.

Right now (though this could change during testing, of course) classes that earn more than 1x spec points per level will earn that amount from 2-5, whereas before bases classes only earned 1x. This isn't going to result in a HUGE difference in total spec points - it's only 14 extra points for 2x classes - but it could make some small difference in available specs.
  • Starting stat selection moved to the appearance editing screen and points auto-allocated by default.
  • MoS speed bonus increased and detection decreased.
  • Spellcraft recipes added that create Seals worth 10 and 50 Glowing Dreaded Seals, respectively, on Gaheris.
  • Mordred RP worth timer reduced from 24 hours to 15 minutes.

Though it's still in testing, I've updated the style pages here for the changes that have been made (so far?) in 1.92. This will result in a lot of discrepancies between your live character and the style pages for the time being, but it will let you see what you'll be getting with the new patch - which I hope is more useful.

Mythic wants to know what you think ought to be done with New Frontiers, so they're asking in a login poll:

New Frontiers Territory Login Poll

The Dark Age of Camelot team is currently going through a detailed analysis of New Frontiers. Please select the option that best describes your feeling about the New Frontiers territory:

  • I do not wish to answer this poll.
  • New Frontiers is just fine.
  • Keep New Frontiers, but reduce the size of the region.
  • Keep New Frontiers, but cluster it across all servers.
  • Get rid of New Frontiers. I want a new area, smaller than New Frontiers but larger than a battleground.
  • I don’t care what the territory is; just give me more things to do while I’m there.
  • I have no preferences with regard to the RvR territory.
  • I do not see my option on this list.
