Classes of Camelot Frequently Asked Questions
What's with all these dang acronyms?
PvE stands for Player versus Environment. That would be you killing Dragon Bugs or Undead Goops or some such things you would find in your home realm.
PvP stands for Player versus Player. This is you killing other players.
RvR stands for Realm versus Realm. This is people from your realm or some other realm killing people from another realm.
In this game, PvP and RvR are synonymous.
So, can you loot from other players once you kill them?
Nope. You cannot loot anything from another player you kill.
You mean I can't even take their money?
*Bonk* No, nothing, nada, zero, zilch. You can't loot anything!
Do you lose experience from dying in PvP?
Nope. You don't even drop a gravestone... it's just like you died before you were level 5 - just a quick trip to your bind stone and some resurrection sickness.
What's this stuff about Realm Points?
Realm points measure your activity in PvP. Every time you kill someone worthy, you get Realm Points and Bounty Points from them. Realm Points are kind of like PvP experience.
O.K. So what's a Bounty Point for then?
Bounty Points are like Realm Points, but they can be spent on nifty trinkets at Bounty Point stores.
Huh? I killed someone and didn't get any points?
Yeah. Probably cause you were level 50 and he was level 10. Go pick on someone your own level if you want to get points. They need to be at least level 20 - and the more realm points they have, the more you'll get for killing them. Another reason is that someone else recently got them before you. You should see some text to that effect however.
Well what does a Realm Point do then?
Nag, nag, nag... everything's got to *do* something for you. Realm Points grant special titles and give skill bonuses. For now, every time you gain a realm rank, you will get an innate +1 to all of your skills. You can also get Realm Abilities as your realm points take you to new Realm Levels.
What's this Realm Rank doohickey thingamabob?
A player's realm activity is measured in Realm Ranks and Levels. When you get a certain number of realm points, your realm level will increase. Every time you get 10 realm levels, you'll go up a Realm Rank. So, at realm level 9 you'd be Rank 1 Level 9, but at realm level 10 you'd be Rank 2 Level 0 etc. Don't ask me why they did it this way - it would have been much easier with just 10 ranks. The amount of points needed to move up a realm rank is exponential, so it's very unlikely you'll see many people at rank 10 anytime soon.
But anyhow, Every Realm Rank after level 1 (starting from 2) you'll get a +1 to all skill levels, and a nifty new Realm Title that enemies will see in RvR, and you can see by clicking on the character info screen in game.
How many Realm Points do I need to achieve a new Realm Rank?
What kinds of things can I spend my Bounty Points on?
Right now, only potions, housing rent, and realm keeps. If your guild claims a keep in your homeland your guild is charged bounty points for the upkeep. The higher level the keep is raised to (making the guards and lord higher level) the more bounty points your guild is charged.
What kinds of potions are there?
As you acquire Bounty Points, you may use them at special Bounty Point merchants to buy potions. There are 3 types of potions - those that heal health, those that heal mana, and those that heal stamina. There are also 5 levels of each type of potion - ranging from a minor heal all the way to a major heal. The first level potions cost 100 BP (Bounty Points) and the fifth level potions cost 500 BP. Each potion is a one-time use object, and you can only use one potion at a time. With the addition of Trials of Atlantis you can also purchase water breathing potions with bounty points.
Where do I see how many realm and bounty points I have?
You can find that at the bottom of your Character Panel.
