Minotaur Relics
General Mino-Relic Information
There are 24 Minotaur relics. 17 are located in the Labyrinth, 6 in the Frontiers, and 1 in Cathal Valley. Mino-relics are divided into three tiers. Tier one relics are aimed at solo/duo players, and only affect a single person. Tier two relics are aimed at about half a group to a group, and affect all members of a group. Tier three relics are aimed at a full group or more, and affect all players within a range of the player with the relic. Relics decay over time and players must participate in RvR combat to keep them. Only Larimorn grants a bonus in the Labyrinth. Unlocking Mino-Relics
Most mino-relics are associated with a monster encounter - the table below lists those encounters and where to find them. When you complete those encounters, the relic can be picked up. However, when the encounter boss is spawned, you cannot pick up the relic. Two relics do not have encounters. Orseo can be picked up by whichever realm owns Orseo Keep. Larimorn can be picked up by anyone. Picking Up, Carrying, and Dropping Mino-Relics
To pick up a relic, simply click on it and press the get item key. If the relic encounter has been completed, you will be able to pick it up, with a few exceptions:
When you are carrying a relic, it will not appear in your inventory. Instead, a new UI window will appear showing the relic's decay timer. The relic's effect will be visible as a buff icon. It will refresh every 30 seconds while you are being affected by the relic. If you aren't in a zone in which your relic works (i.e. if you are in the Labyrinth and have a relic other than Larimorn), the buff icon will not appear. You can use the drop button on the relic window to drop the relic to the ground, or can use the /dropmr command. Relics also drop when the player carrying the relic dies, logs, or attempts to take the relic out of specific zones. Most relics are limited to the Frontiers and the Labyrinth - Orseo is limited to Cathal Valley, and Larimorn is limited to the Labyrinth. To give a relic to another player, you can either drop it on the ground and let them pick it up, or use the /givemr command to give the relic to whoever you have targetted. Mino-Relics Must Feed
As soon as a relic is removed from its encounter, a timer starts. This timer is visible on the mino-relic window for whoever is carrying the relic, and represents the time remaining before the relic will "decay". Decaying does not mean that the relic gets weaker as the timer goes down. When a relic decays, it returns from wherever it was to its encounter location. To prevent this from happening, players must "feed" the relic, which will increase the time remaining before the relic decays. Only three things can feed mino-relics: killing enemy players, tower captains, and keep lords. Different relics require a different number of kills to be fed, with the more potent relics requiring more kills. For the relics that can be taken to the Frontiers, only kills in the Frontiers will feed the relic. Only Larimorn will be fed when killing players in the Labyrinth. Relic decay continues when the relic is not being carried by a player - if it's been dropped after combat, or voluntarily, and is just sitting on the ground. You cannot just drop the relic and pick it up again to refresh the decay bar, nor will it reset if someone else picks it up after you've dropped it (even if you dropped it after being killed in RvR). If you're carrying a relic and start hearing a nearly constant sort of wailing sound, that's just the relic warning you that if it doesn't get fed soon, it'll decay. Mino-Relics on the Map
This icon also appears when a stealther is stealthed with a relic. The only relic not to have such an icon is the "super-stealth" relic, Nazinath. Mino-Relic Gating
Not all relics are always available - access to tier two and three relics is restricted via the gating system. To begin with, all tier one relics will be available at their encounters. However, originally, no tier two or three relics will be spawned, so even if you should complete their encounter, you will not be able to get the relic - it simply won't be there. When three tier one relics are "in play" (which I'm assuming at this point means have been unlocked, and are not just sitting on their pedestal under the control of the encounter mob), all tier two relics will spawn at their pedestals. Similarly, when three tier two relics are in play, the tier three relics will spawn. When there are less than three relics of a tier in play, the tier above will despawn. For example, when three tier two relics are in play the tier three relics will be spawned. If at any time enough tier two relics decay and return to their encounter that there are less than three in play, the tier three relics will despawn and disappear from their pedestals. Despawning does not affect relics that are currently in play, only relics that are at the encounter and have not been unlocked. Mino-Relic RvR Missions
Mino-Relic RvR missions are not currently implemented in-game... however, these types of missions will be available at some point:
The Gaheris System
Obviously, players on Gaheris cannot feed relics by killing other players. So rather than having some form of mob-based feed system, Mythic has changed the bonuses on the relics to buffs. On Gaheris, when a relic encounter is completed, all players within a certain radius (about 2000 units) of the relic pedestal will receive a buff. This buff will last for two hours, at the end of which time you would have to return and redo the encounter in order to get the bonus again. The benefit of this is that you can take the buff to whatever zone you wish; you are not limited to the Frontiers or the Labyrinth. A few changes were made to the relics themselves:
