Go check out Prime!: Anyone interested in DAoC may want to check out Prime: Battle for Dominus. It's kinda like DAoC, but with scifi, and jetpacks, and Sanya.

ML Abilities Updated
Submitted by: Uriel on 10/27/2004 12:08:29 AM
The ladies at the Herald have added ML Ability documentation - and ours is updated with information from those pages. You can also now view all the ML abilities available to your class on a single page; hopefully that will help in the choice between paths.

Since the Herald Feed is borked again...
Submitted by: Uriel on 10/11/2004 3:37:41 PM
There's a problem on our side somewhere with the news feed from the Herald not updating as often as it should. Normally I just let the news feed handle the Herald news, since it really seems pointless to repost it. But since that's not possible at the moment, here's a little bit of what's been happening in Herald-land of late (and by of late I mean last week, really):

DAoC is celebrating its third anniversary with (in-game) fireworks:
The medallion merchants located in every portal keep have been granted their temporary black powder licenses, and will for a short time be selling single charge fireworks for ten silver pieces. Look high in the sky for the golden trail of sparkles, and see each trail explode into a wondrous blossom.
Read more about the fireworks.

The beta sign-up sheet for Catacombs is now open...
You need to have TOA and NF on the machine and account you sign up to test with. One account per applicant. Read the page carefully and fill out the form completely. Filling out the form correctly and entirely means you'll be put into a pool, and the beta testers will be randomly selected from that pool. Thanks and good luck!

And the weekly Grab Bag is out:
Q: I was wondering when Catacombs would be released. Also... is it a downloadable like NF, or do you have to buy it like SI?

A: We’re due to launch Catacombs in December. And if it’s December, it must be a retail expansion – an expansion that comes in a box purchased from a store. Our next free expansion’s theme will be announced sometime after the new year dawns.

Interesting Tidbits
Submitted by: Uriel on 10/3/2004 4:44:24 AM
Thanks to Sanya's Grab Bag this week I now know of a new DAoC site, Shadow's Edge. While exploring that site I came across a feature dealing with the breakout sessions held at the Roundtable - some very interesting information is posted there regaring various topics, including:
  • TL qualifications
  • Stackable potions
  • Epic armor
  • Durability repairs
  • Player-owned/controlled horses
Read it here!

More Catacombs Info
Submitted by: Uriel on 10/1/2004 4:30:58 PM
IGN has a preview of Catacombs up - with mostly general info, as might be expected.

Gamespy has their own preview up, and it's a bit more interesting than the IGN one. It's got some new screenshots as well as information on the Vampiir and Banshee, Hibernia's new classes (much the same info can now be found on Mythic's Catacombs site).

In non-Catacombs related news, The Camelot Gatherer (only recently added to our links pages, unfortunately) has undergone a major rehaul. It allows you to see some very useful information regarding character performance and performance trends - from individual characters to an entire class or an entire server.

And Mythic has decided to increase the realm rank limit to 12, as well as introduce titles. But unless you have at least 20 million realm points or so, you shouldn't get your hopes up when it comes to having a title of your very own any time soon.
