Go check out Prime!: Anyone interested in DAoC may want to check out Prime: Battle for Dominus. It's kinda like DAoC, but with scifi, and jetpacks, and Sanya.

Merry Christmas! Enjoy your gift...
Submitted by: Uriel on 12/25/2004 8:27:19 AM
I've updated our Artifact entries to fill in missing information and correct what needed correcting.

The Artifact database is also updated for Catacombs. It now has info both on Catacombs classes and Artifacts (at least what Artifacts they can activate, though not always which version they get) and on leveling Artifacts in Catacombs.

As always, if there's something wrong or missing, you can email me or mention it in the discussion thread.

Heretic Guide, Spell Pages
Submitted by: Uriel on 12/22/2004 6:58:32 AM
There's an introductory/general Heretic guide by Arieselli up here. It looks like a good place to start for those of us (including me) who don't know much about this new class.

The rest of the spell pages are now up as well, for those wanting to see what tools are available to the new classes... though I'll point out again that the source for my information isn't the most reliable ever.

Ars Reforma
Submitted by: Uriel on 12/18/2004 7:40:09 PM
Iain, the tradeskills Team Lead, is making a rare public appearance and getting input from crafters on how to best go about revamping the crafting system. There are four threads so far at the DAOC Tradeskills forums you can comment on:

Ars Reforma I - General Crafting Issues
Ars Reforma II - Making Crafting More Fun
Ars Reforma III - Spellcrafting and Alchemy
Ars Reforma IV - Trinketing and Skill-up

The Latest State of the Game
Submitted by: Uriel on 12/17/2004 1:09:57 AM
This time I leave the nitpicking to you or, at least, until tomorrow - it's far too late to go analyzing a post like this. From the Herald - Mark Jacobs' latest post on the current state of DAoC, or at least what's to come:
It’s the week before Christmas and all through the ‘Nets, all the creatures are stirring including their pets. With a land that is dark, and a world made for war throw in a place made forever, there is no room for snores. There’s excitement and mirth, laughter and beer, in the end though what counts, Mythic’s still here. We’ve worked and we’ve slaved, and we’ve delivered our best, now the next question from you is “What are you giving us next???”

Heretic Spells Added
Submitted by: Uriel on 12/8/2004 1:36:34 PM
You can find them at http://www.classesofcamelot.com/spells/A_Heretic.asp or a printer-friendly version at http://www.classesofcamelot.com/spells/A_Heretic.html. Lists for the other classes should follow soon, though in the meantime you can see them at the Herald's newly remade spell library.

Overdue updates
Submitted by: Uriel on 12/3/2004 4:23:15 PM
Two changes today: the class pages now list what Master Level paths that class can follow, and the RA ranks page has Rank 11 and 12 information.

Major non-expansion changes... who woulda thought it?
Submitted by: Uriel on 12/2/2004 4:11:21 PM
1.73L is now available, with some huge changes:
  • You will now see pip indicators for your group members on the map window. These indicators will slowly update as your group members move throughout the zone map.
  • Players may now apply dye to the following cloaks: Melos Pearl-Edged Cloak, Harpy Feather Cloak, A Healers Embrace, Shades of Mist, and Cloudsong.
  • With this version, you may now purchase items directly through the Market Explorer. However, the Market Explorer will add a 20% commission for the service of retrieving the item for you.
  • In this version, the capital city teleporters have been merged with the existing multidestination house teleporters. With this change, housing now only has one house teleporter.
Many more long-awaited changes than I for one expected this close to the release of an expansion. The full notes can be found in the discussion thread.

More small but significant changes in the pre-release rush...
  • Added the /smile and /angry facial emotes.
  • All 30 static zones in Catacombs are now equipped with in-game maps. The blue gem icon on the map represents the location of the obelisk in that zone.
