My host has informed me that the way the site creates connections to the database is not allowing them to be closed, which is causing the database (and thus the site) to slow down. I've changed the way the connections work, which I hope will fix the problem - but whether it does or not, there's a small chance it will cause weirdness on any of the pages that make a database call (which is, well, all of them).
If you notice anything unusual, particularly MySQL errors of any kind, please let me know ASAP so I can try to fix them.
